Congestion and gridlock

Damage to the Road

Abbey Road Street Party

To celebrate World Car Free Day Abbey Road hosted a street party organised by the residents. It was a day of calm and an opportunity for local families to come out and enjoy the clean air and space to play safely on our streets! For residents who have lived here for 40 years+ this was the first time they had been able to have their front windows open and to enjoy the space in front of their house and for kids to be able to play in the street without fear of racing vehicles. This day showed how little disruption this caused to the local flow of traffic who adapted quickly to the restrictions.

This isn’t your every day but something closer to this rather than the above is what a residential street should be.
